Don't you think their should be guidelines regarding baby names here in the U.S.?

It's true though. It is their kid, and they can name it what they want. That's the sad part because you are absolutely correct. Just because it seems cute/funny at the time, it doesn't mean it should be used. There should be formal guidelines, but obviously that is never going to happen. Too bad, because some of these people really need a nice slap in the face.
