Why do people insist that the soul exists(the brain is the proven center of emotion and intellect)?

in other words, what reason have we got to believe that the soul exists. have you ever felt anything that cannot be described in terms of emotion or thought? probably not..Morality is also not a proof for the soul, as not everyone is moral and also there is no universal morality.Please do not tell me to read the Bible or anything religiously oriented, unless it is backed up with science or it is a part of a serious argument
