Stories slow to load then crash?

First page of email, I click on "Sports", then more news, then the Golf tab, then a news story. The page loads extremely slowly, will not respond to the scroll bars, then I get a message "Internet Explorer has stopped working" and that page and all the tabs I have open are shut down. This has been going on for some time. I have Windows Vista Home Premium and IE7. Thank you for any enlightenment.
