Was America’s intervention in the world in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century motivated more by..?
well, i would say its more of economic really. with many economic devastations occuring within the country (galveston hurricane, great depression, etc.) the nation would naturally look for a solution to gather up the money to pay for it and maybe even profit. panama c is a good example-a speedy page to export more goods around the country as well as charge other countries that wished to use it. spanish american war wasnt really to bring democracy to cuba but rather obtain the area for military and economic value, though they settled in letting cuba "have freedom" (partly true)
