Curiousity killed the cat but for a while i was the suspect?

If it's by Stephen Wright it was ONLY a joke, meaning he was trying to say he was accused (theoretically) of killing the cat instead. Part of his comedy act no doubt, like his famous line that he was a c section baby, when he leaves the house he always goes out through the window. (He just plays on words).
